E. Cobham Brewer 1810–1897. Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. 1898 explains the meaning of my blog url name.

A large, flat foot. The expression was first used in Punch, in one of Leech’s caricatures. Those who know London know how it is overrun with cockroaches, wrongly called black-beetles.

Because of this and that many soldiers had big flat feet the name Beetlecrusher is synonomous with infantry soldiers. As I am a former Infantryman I have taken that monniker… I am not quite sure what will materialise here as I do have Blogs over yonder on Blogspot… soon to appear in the sidebar as I learn this new tool…

Update: 10/07/2006

Well… that seems settled… another Guns & Ammo… Guts & Glory Gung Ho military flavoured blog… don’t say you were not warned! :-)
